28 April - Wallaga Lake Canoeing - Day trip

Walk Coordinator(s): Robert Lewin
Meet: 09:00
- End of Fairhaven Point Way at Fairhaven. (about 8km north of Bermagui)
 Grade: Moderate
Distance: 16 km
Description: Hats and sunscreen. Please contact the walk coordinator a week before (by 21 April) to discuss equipment and transport. Rob. has one kayak (1 seat) and one canoe (2 or 3
seats) and flotation devices. If you can offer a canoe/kayak (even if you're not able to attend, but willing to lend), please let Rob Lewin know.
Terrain: flat salt water

Ten walkers set out from Fairhaven, exploring Narira Creek and and the western shore of Wallaga Lake, heading for Snake Island. Weather was overcast and warm with only a light-moderate breeze at times and few speed boats around. Cows and kangaroos stared as we glided past their pastures. Those in kayaks were damp and splashed at times but the two canoeists were able to demonstrate their skill at righting the upturned canoe. Well done Robert!"

Thanks for the photos Mark and Kaye!
